The Face of a Communication Disorder

In 2002 our chapter created an awareness campaign around the theme "A Face of a Communication Disorder". The campaign was expanded to include the Provincial group and will be used for several years to come.

The goal of the campaign is: We use the pictures of several children along with information about communication disorders and the need for increased speech and language services on a variety of items.
Posters
Chocolate Bars
Bookmarks
PowerPoint Presentation long version or short version

We had our children hand these items out when making presentations to school boards, parents and the public.

We also created a kit that included posters, bookmarks, OAFCCD flyer, a May Parent & Child Activity Calendar, fact sheets on communication disorders and several items from our local Preschool Program Language Express. This kit was sent out to all schools, daycare's and nursery schools in the Smiths Falls area.

Our local chapter is making all our "Face of a Communication Disorder" items available for purchase by other chapters, parents, support groups, Speech Language Pathologists etc. If you are interested please give us a call or email us.
