CHILDREN WITH COMMUNICATION DISORDERS

Articulation Problems Children learn and practice sounds as they grow. A child with an articulation problem does not have all the sounds or clearly pronounce the sounds in words. Young children typically substitute sounds that are easy for more difficult sounds - such as "tup" for "cup", or they may omit sounds at the beginning or end of words. A child is only considered to have an articulation problem if they can not say the sounds and words that are appropriate for their age.
